Secure Domain Separation

To maximize user-awareness by increasing the active participation in eBanking, Todos has developed a unique concept called Secure Domain Separation.

Secure Domain Separation introduces several new function keys on Todos’s end-user devices. Each key has a specific function and is used in specific transaction situations, and in separate functions such as; login, the signing of a bank transaction or the making of an e-purchase.

Using different keys for different activities heightens the end user’s awareness as the user will be more conscious of his actions while performing a transaction. For example, when the end-user wishes to transfer funds he will be using the Sign button.

The function keys are cryptographically separated, thus the generated code is not reusable cross channels. This means that a login code will not be valid for anything but logging in and can not be used for either e-shopping or signing a transaction. Furthermore, this may also allow the introduction of additional secured services while maintaining the end-user’s understanding and active participation in the process.
