Dynamic Signatures
Dynamic Signatures are risk based and enable the bank to control the risk in each and every transaction dynamically – today and tomorrow.
The sophistication of attacks focusing on eBanking is continuously increasing1 . Also, the attacks are becoming more precise with respect to choosing the most profitable target. Hence banks have to prepare to respond to this development.
Todos introduces Dynamic Signatures that are truly dynamic and thus counteract this continuously evolving threat. If only a small fraction of all transactions are regarded as high-risk, why overload the customer with a transaction signing scheme that is more complex than needed for the customer’s standard transactions?
DS lets banks use a standard challenge and response for the vast majority of low-risk transactions such as low-value purchases or moving money between a customer’s accounts. However, it automatically detects higher-risk transactions and increases the end-user’s participation before allowing them. This means that users find Todos devices easier to use and, at the same time, they get increased security when it matters most.
Dynamic Signatures increase end-user awareness and act-of-will by adding more context to each transaction. This approach helps to defeat the advanced online fraud, including such as Man-in-the-Middle and Man-in-the-Browser attacks.
Todos’s DS concept is already in use in Germany as part of the HHD 1.3 standard and it has been adopted by leading banks including Nordea and ABN AMRO.
Dynamic Signatures are risk based and enable the bank to control the risk in each and every transaction, dynamically – today and tomorrow.
Banks ask us: “To what extent do we need to raise our security level and how long will it be enough?”
Todos’s answer is: “Do it whenever it is needed. With the very same Todos tools you’ve already rolled out.
And just like diamonds, Dynamic Signatures are forever”
