Nordea Bank was looking for a next generation authentication solution for its internet bank portal. The preferred solution was to encompass both business clients and private customers and therefore integrate several needs, such as; securing complex transactions, usability, reuse of earlier investments etc.
Nordea Bank chose Todos to supply an authentication solution based on Todos Dynamic Signature concept. A smart card reader was developed according to Nordea specific requirements incorporating Todos technical specifications, operating in either connected mode or unconnected to the client PC.
This card reader together with Todos eCode back-end server generates a corner stone for Nordea Banks authentication solution for many years ahead. Due to the solutions architecture security may be incrementally increased without any additional structural investments. Furthermore Todos is managing the distribution of the millions and millions of card readers to Nordea Banks customers through our complete fulfillment offering.
The authentication service was deployed in November 2007 and has proven to be a huge success. The new solution allows Nordea Bank clients to submit complex transactions with PKI support, as well as easy to use OTP authentication in a high security context and even perform web shopping without jeopardising Internet bank related information - thanks to Todos Secure Domain Separation concept.
