BBS, an authentication ASP
Banks in Norway were seeking for a cost-efficient way of managing their internet bank authentication needs. The banks, operating highly independently, were elaborating a possible economy of scale operation.
Bankenes Betalning Sentral, an entity handling centralized transactions for the Norwegian banks, implemented a multi issuer set-up of the Todos back end solution. With this solution BBS operates the Todos solution as an Application Service Provider. BBS easily sets up and operates new bank members authentication needs. Furthermore BBS’ nationwide PKI based BankID solution, with centrally stored soft certificates, is accessed via the Todos eCode Solution.
Amongst the banks of Norway the Sparebank 1 Group is using the BBS authentication service utilizing one of the Todos authentication devices whether as Kauphting Bank – also using the BBS authentication service – is utilizing another Todos device.
