ABN AMRO, in planning its third generation authentication solution, was looking for the most secure and user friendly card reading device. A device that actively would involve the end user in the signing of transactions, yet cost effective, handy and robust.
In close co-operation Todos and ABN AMRO developed the ABN AMRO third generation card reader, meeting all prerequisites from ABN AMRO – and adding some extra conceptual thinking from Todos side.
In doing so the most secure “Sign-what-you-see” end-user device seen today was launched, allowing the user to actually understand what and how he or she is signing. A concept now often referred to as Transaction Verification.
By reaching to this immediate interaction the end-user is actively participating and, if intercepted by a fraud scheme, have the opportunity of scrutinising the process of authentication/signature.
